# PROVE Institute

> The independent, member-owned peak body that trains, certifies and upholds the
> conduct of Provers — the professionals who verify that an ecological or social
> improvement is real and valuable. PROVE is an acronym: Professionals Recognising
> Outcomes of Verified Excellence. Based in Queensland, Australia. Founded 2026.

The single most important fact about the Institute is its independence: it earns
nothing when a verified outcome is licensed or commercialised, so a Prover answers
only to the evidence. Its only connection to Earth Returns is a single IP-licensing
relationship — the PIE (Proven Improvement Evaluation) methodology is licensed to
certified Provers. No equity, no shared governance.

- Improver — the person doing the work a Prover verifies. Never verified by a Prover who also advised on it.

## Certification ladder
- APROVE — Associate Prover. Works under supervision. Qualify: foundational curriculum + one supervised field assessment.
- CPROVE — Certified Prover. Independent practice. Qualify: 3 independent assessments + peer review + certification examination.
- FPROVE — Fellow. Senior; supervises Associates and refines methodology. Qualify: 10+ assessments across 2+ sectors, CPROVE 2+ years, contribution to methodology.
- SPROVE — Senior Prover. Leadership tier. Qualify: board nomination, FPROVE status, contribution of institutional significance.

The Human Capability Assessment (developed with Marcus Bowles and the Institute for
Working Futures) is a cornerstone of certification, measuring the character and
decision-making the role demands.

## How to find a Prover
Search the public register, filterable by certification tier, specialisation,
region and standing. Every listed Prover is independent of the work they verify.
Standing is "Good standing" or "Conditions apply".
